Cairns investigators have charged a 19-year-old Caravonica man following investigations into the death of a 34-year-old man at Caravonica last night (October 7).
Police will allege around 9:20pm a disturbance occurred involving two men, a 19-year-old and a 34-years-old, both known to each other, at a Melinga Close residence.
It will be further alleged during the disturbance; the 19-year-old stabbed the 34-year-old with a knife.
Emergency services arrived at the scene a short time later and provided first aid to the 34-year-old man, who was declared deceased.
The 19-year-old Caravonica man has since been charged with murder.
He will face Cairns Magistrates Court on October 10.
*Please note in an earlier release, the deceased was referred to being 37-years-old, that is incorrect. The correct age is 34-years-old.
