Police update 1: Suspicious death investigation, South Brisbane (Wishart)

Detectives from South Brisbane District, with the assistance of the Homicide Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance following the death of a man last night.

Around 10.30pm the 42-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt man was driven to the QEII Hospital where he later passed away from significant injuries.

Police investigations led them to an address in Lani Street, Wishart which has been declared a crime scene. Scientific officers have been examining the address, and police, police divers and the SES have been conducting searches of areas in the immediate vicinity. A number of items have been seized.

Police have also seized two vehicles – a black 2009 Nissan Tiida and a late model red Mitsubishi Mirage.

These vehicles have been seen in the local area over the past two weeks and police are appealing for anyone with information about the vehicles to contact them.

Police particularly want to speak to anyone who has information about the movements of the vehicles between 9pm last night (Saturday, March 9) and 2am this morning, especially in the following streets: Lani Street, Tryon Street, Logan Road, Kessells Road and Newman Road. This includes any dashcam vision or any home owners with CCTV.
