New information has been provided to police regarding investigations into the suspicious death of a 16-month-old boy from Burpengary in 2022.
At 2.40pm, 30 December 2021 paramedics were called to an address on Staaten Street in relation to the medical welfare of a child.
The toddler was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition. He passed away in hospital on 8 January 2022.
An investigation was initially launched by Pine Rivers Child Protection Investigation Unit in conjunction with Child Trauma Unit and Homicide Investigation Unit to establish the circumstances surrounding the boy's death.
Ongoing investigations have identified a number of inconsistencies from information initially provided.
Investigators are renewing their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or concerning behaviour in the vicinity of Staaten Street involving a male child in the lead up to Thursday, 30 December 2021 are urged to come forward.
