Police update 2: Urgent appeal as search continues for missing 81yo man last seen in Samford Village

Police continue to search for 81-year-old Cedar Creek man Maxwell Morrison who was last seen on Monday afternoon and are urging the local community to check their properties.

Mr Morrison, who has initial stages of dementia and is an insulin dependent diabetic, left a Morrison Road, Cedar Creek property around 1.30pm on Monday, August 5 and drove to Samford Village.

He left the Village and was last seen driving on Mount Glorious Road, near Samford Village at around 2pm.

It is unknown where, which direction or how far Mr Morrison may have travelled since that time with police and family holding serious concerns for his safety and well-being.

There have been no confirmed sightings of Mr Morrison or his vehicle since 2pm on Monday.

He was driving a 2004 white Nissan Navara single cab utility with Queensland registration 195-HPL. The vehicle has a distinctive steel tray with timber decking and mesh fold down vehicle ramps (pictured).

A land and aerial search is underway involving helicopters, 4WDs, trail bikes and other vehicles.

The area is rural with many acreage properties and large areas of bush and park land. Police are urging all property owners to check their properties, local areas, parks etc.

Family and friends of Mr Morrison are assisting in the search and door knocking residences in the area between Cedar Creek and Samford.

Anyone who sights Mr Maxwell or his vehicle is urged to immediately call police on Triple Zero (000).

Mr Maxwell is Caucasian, approximately 170cms tall with a heavy-set build and white hair. He was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt with a collar, dark grey pants, brown socks and sandals.

A Police Forward Command Post has been established at Ferny Grove Police Station.
