Logan Detectives investigating the death of a 46-year-old woman, whose body was located at a Buccan property on Monday, 12 January, have issued an arrest warrant for a 36-year-old man currently in New South Wales (NSW).
Around 1am on Monday, 12 January, police received a report regarding a missing 46-year-old Ashgrove woman who had last been seen at The Gap around 7pm on Saturday, 10 January.
Following investigations, officers attended a property on Waterford Tamborine Road at Buccan to conduct a welfare check around 2.30am, where they located the woman deceased.
The 36-year-old male resident, who was known to the woman, was not at the property.
Around 2pm Queensland time that afternoon, NSW Police arrested a 36-year-old Buccan man at Kempsey on unrelated traffic matters.
The man was today remanded in custody in NSW until 25 February for sentencing in relation to those traffic matters.
Once the NSW court matters are finalised, Queensland Police will seek his extradition back to Queensland.
The arrest warrant against the man is for the offence of murder, in relation to the death of the 46-year-old Ashgrove woman.
Investigations remain ongoing.
