Police update: Armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle at Kingston

Police have charged two people after a Nissan Dualis was allegedly stolen from a Kingston home on April 12.

At 2pm yesterday police noticed the vehicle travelling east along Chambers Flat Road at Marsden.

When police activated lights and sirens, it will be alleged the Nissan Dualis failed to stop, instead accelerating and turning right onto Princess St and continuing towards Browns Plains Road where it allegedly crossed to the wrong side of the road several times.

The vehicle then entered the Mount Lindsay Highway allegedly at speed before taking the Parkridge Road exit and proceeded to enter a number of roundabouts on the incorrect side of the road and also mounted the nature strips and back onto the road.

While travelling along Middle Road, the vehicle veered off the road and onto the nature strip and after approximately 200 metres, the vehicle crashed into a storm drain.

Officers arrested the 18-year-old male driver as he has attempted to get out of the vehicle. The Marsden man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evade, supply dangerous drugs and unlicensed driving. He will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 15.

The 30-year-old Wooloowin man, who was the front seat passenger, ran into bushland and was later located by the dog squad. He has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police and will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 13

A 27-year-old female passenger in the rear of the vehicle was transported to Logan Hospital for treatment to lower back pain and is assisting police with inquiries.
