Police have charged a man following three armed robbery incidents across Mackay yesterday, 3 September.
Around 10.30am yesterday, police were called to reports of a man entering a business on Celeber Drive armed with a hammer.
The man allegedly demanded cash from an employee before running from the scene with a quantity of money.
At approximately 7pm on 3 September, it is alleged a man entered a Finch Street convenience store in Slade Point armed with a hammer and demanded a sum of money.
The man left the scene in a white sedan towards Slade Point Road with a quantity of money.
At approximately 10pm, a man attended an Empire Street service station in Paget allegedly armed with a hammer and demanded cash from an employee.
It is alleged the man left the scene a short time later with a phone charger stolen from the premises.
The employees at all three businesses were not physically injured in the incidents.
At approximately 4am this morning 4 September, police intercepted a vehicle and took a man into custody.
A 27-year-old Greenmount man has been charged with three counts of armed robbery.
He is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court tomorrow, 5 September.
