Police update: Armed robbery at Cairns

Police have charged 22-year-old man following an alleged armed robbery at Cairns on Monday, January 7.

Around 11am, two men entered a business on Sheridan Street and allegedly threatened staff with a knife.

The men then moved behind the counter and demanded staff hand over money.

A 22-year-old Manoora man has been charged with one count of armed robbery. He will appear in Cairns Magistrates Court this morning.

Investigations continue.
