Police Update: Armed Robbery Charge, Labrador

A man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at a Labrador business on 8 March.

It will be alleged that around 3.25pm, a man entered a tobacconist on Brown Street and approached the counter with a brown duffle bag.

Police will allege the man produced a knife and demanded money from a staff member while placing the bag on the counter.

The employee complied and placed cash into the bag before the man fled the store on foot with a sum of cash.

No physical injuries were reported during the incident.

Following investigations by detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch, a 23-year-old Gold Coast man has been charged with one count of robbery armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Southport Magistrates Court on 24 April.

Investigations are continuing.
