Police update: Armed robbery, Wynnum

Detectives have charged a 20-year-old Riverbend man following an alleged armed robbery in Wynnum on April 20.

It will be alleged just before 8pm, the man, who was armed, entered a Florence Street tobacconist where he demanded money and tobacco products from the female attendant.

The attendant complied and no one was physically injured.

The man, who was allegedly in the company of another armed person, then left the store on foot with tobacco products and a sum of cash.

Following extensive investigations, the man was taken into police custody on August 30 and charged with one count each of armed robbery, enter premises and commit, and possess utensils.

He appeared at Wynnum Magistrates Court yesterday, August 31, and is due to reappear on October 30.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the other alleged offender is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
