Police update: Armed robbery, Wynnum West

Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Wynnum West on September 6 have charged a man.

Police will allege around 8:30pm a man entered the business at the intersection of Wynnum Road and Plaza Street, armed with a knife.

It will be further alleged he demanded money from a staff member, who complied with the man's demands, before he fled the scene on foot.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

Police took a man into custody at an address in Manly West overnight.

A 30-year-old Wakerley man has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and enter premises and commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on September 9.
