Police Update: Arson Charges At Redcliffe

A man has been charged with further offences following a house fire in Clontarf on Saturday afternoon, 30 May.

It will be alleged at 1.50pm, the man used an accelerant to set fire to a house in Weaber Street before fleeing the house.

He was located a short time later by a police dog squad unit.

No one was physically injured in the incident, and the house was destroyed.

A 36-year-old Dakabin man was initially charged with one count of arson (domestic violence).

Redcliffe Detectives have further charged the man with three counts of attempted murder (domestic violence) and two further counts of arson.

He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, 1 June.
