Police update: Attempted armed robbery, Clontarf

Investigations into the attempted armed robbery of a Clontarf convenience store last week has resulted in a man being arrested today.

At 4.30am on Thursday, June 6 it will be alleged the 21-year-old walked into the Elizabeth Avenue business, produced a red coloured bag and a knife before threatening a 32-year-old male staff member.

It will further be alleged he demanded cash however fled without taking any money.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

A 21-year-old Redcliffe man has been charged with one count each of attempted robbery, possessing dangerous drugs and possess utensils.

He is expected to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
