Police update: Attempted armed robbery, Coorparoo

Police have charged a teenager in relation to an attempted armed robbery at Coorparoo earlier this week.

Initial enquires indicate around 10:20pm a 37-year-old woman was parked in a vehicle on Temple Street before a grey Volkswagen Passat drove up and parked in front of the woman.

A group emerged from the vehicle, with one member allegedly producing a knife, and attempted to enter the woman's vehicle.

The group was unable to gain entry to the vehicle and fled the scene in the Volkswagen towards Bennetts Road.

The woman was not physically harmed in the incident.

At approximately 8pm last night (September 28), detectives located a teenage boy at a Goodna address where he was arrested without incident.

The 14-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offences, including three counts of armed robbery, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of burglary and attempted enter dwelling with intent.

He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Children's Court.

Detectives are appealing for any members of the public who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area surrounding Temple Street around the time of the incident to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
