Police update: Charges - Attempted murder in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a man after a serious Domestic Violence incident in Alice Springs on Sunday.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch have charged the 44-year-old man with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Acts intended to cause serious harm
  • Engage in conduct that contravenes a DVO

He currently remains under guard at the Alice Springs Hospital in a stable condition.

His 39-year-old female partner also remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant David Munro said "Thankfully the victim appears to be recovering from her injuries. Addressing domestic and family violence in our community is one of the highest priorities for the Northern Territory Police Force.
