Police update: Homicide investigation at Condon

Two people have been charged following the alleged murder of a 29-year-old woman at Condon on Friday night.

Around 7.20pm on Friday, May 21, police were called to a residence on Riverway Drive where a woman was being treated for a life-threatening neck wound.

The 29-year-old woman was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition. She was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Around 1.30pm today, a 39-year-old man surrendered himself to police.

Just after 4.30pm detectives conducted a search of a West End property and took a 29-year-old woman into custody.

A 29-year-old Condon woman has since been charged with murder while a 39-year-old Townsville man has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Both have been denied police bail and will appear in Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow, May 24.

It is believed they were known to the 29-year-old woman.
