Police Update: Homicide Investigation At Torquay

Police have charged a man with murder as the investigation continues into the suspicious death of a 40-year-old Pialba man in Torquay yesterday, 9 October.

Emergency services were called to a Torquay Terrace address around 2.37pm following reports of a disturbance between a group of men, some of who are known to each other.

Police will allege a 40-year-old Pialba man was physically assaulted at a Fraser Street address, before he died at a Torquay Terrace address shortly after.

A 57-year-old Torquay man has been charged with one count of murder.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today, 10 October.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information or relevant vision of the area between 2pm and 3pm is urged to contact police.
