Police update: Hooning investigation, Marsden

Queensland Police have charged a man following investigations into reported hooning activity in the vicinity of Marsden on Saturday, March 25, earlier this year.

It will be alleged officers responded to reports of a large group of people committing traffic related offences and driving in a dangerous manner along Bourke Street around 3pm.

Multiple crews attended the location and declared an out-of-control event, before moving people on from the location without further incident.

It will be alleged further investigations indicated an unregistered 2000 white Nissan Skyline was seen driving in a dangerous manner at the event, before leaving the area.

On May 15, Officers from the Logan Highway Patrol attended a Springfield Lakes address, where they took a 32-year-old Springfield Lakes man, alleged to have been the driver of the Nissan, into custody.

He has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evade police, driving an unregistered vehicle, and obstruct police.

He is due to re-appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 19
