Police Update: Murder, Springfield Lakes

Detectives have charged two men with murder, following the suspicious death of a woman in Springfield Lakes overnight.

Emergency services were called to a residence on Ash Avenue around 8pm, following reports that a woman had collapsed.

Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old woman who was unconscious and not breathing. Despite the efforts of police and paramedics, the woman was declared deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was established and two men, who are known to the deceased, were taken into custody at the residence.

A 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Springfield Lakes, have been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence offence).

They will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, May 19.
