Police update: Robbery charge, Runcorn

Police have charged a man living in Melbourne in relation to a robbery in Runcorn in August.

On November 14, detectives from Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch travelled to Melbourne after a 37-year-old man had been located and arrested by Victoria Police in relation to a robbery that occurred in Runcorn on August 29.

It will be alleged, around 12.50pm on August 29, on Woorabinda Street, Runcorn, a woman was pushed and had a shoulder bag containing a large quantity of cash stolen by the man who then fled on foot and was last seen in Kalanda Street.

Investigations identified a person of interest who had relocated to Victoria.

A search warrant executed by Victorian detectives resulted in stolen property and evidence of the offence being located at the man's residence.

The man's extradition to Queensland was granted by Melbourne Magistrates Court. He is due to re-appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
