Police update: Sudden death investigation at Nambour

Detectives have charged a Nambour man with murder following investigations into the death of a 32-year-old Weyba Downs man around 11.30pm last night (August 16).

Police were called to Maud Street just before midnight following reports a man had collapsed in the street.

Police will allege the man died following a violent altercation outside a Maud Street unit shortly prior to the report to emergency services.

Following initial investigations today, detectives from the Maroochydore Criminal Investigation Branch arrested a 42-year-old Nambour man this morning at his place of residence.

He has been charged with one count of murder and denied police bail.

The man is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow (August 18).
