A man has been charged following the death of a woman at Varsity Lakes yesterday afternoon (February 25).
At 1.30pm, emergency services were called to an address at Gerona Circuit where they located an 82-year-old woman deceased inside the residence.
An 82-year-old man was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital where he remains under police guard.
He has since been charged with one count of murder and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, pending hospital clearance.
