Police update: Wounding, Fortitude Valley

Detectives have arrested a man following investigations into the alleged stabbing of another man in Fortitude Valley earlier this month.

It will be alleged around 8.50pm on Sunday, May 12, a 38-year-old man was standing on Ann Street at the intersection with Commercial Road when he was approached by the man.

After a short conversation it will be further alleged the man stabbed the victim in the face and chest before running away.

A 27-year-old Zillmere man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital.
