Police in the Newcastle area are calling on all business owners to remain vigilant following a number of robberies at businesses in Newcastle, NSW Police say.
Officers are calling on business owners and staff to keep doors locked ahead of opening hours when workers are preparing products.
A number of robberies have been committed at bakeries in the early hours of the morning.
No one has been injured during the robberies.
Police are issuing the following tips to business owners and staff:
– Keep front and back doors locked when preparing products ahead of opening hours;
– Maintain situational awareness prior to entering the store, especially during the early hours of the day;
– Do not open the door for anyone you don’t know or anyone who shouldn’t be there.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
