Police widen their search to South Australia for sex attacker

Sexual Crime Squad detectives believe a man they wish to speak to following a sexual assault in Melbourne last December may now be in South Australia, Victoria Police say.

A woman was sexually assaulted at a bar in St Kilda (Victoria) on Saturday 24 December, 2016.

Police were told the 39-year-old woman was walking through a crowded dance floor at a bar on Acland Street about 1.30am.

An unknown man grabbed her from behind on the dance floor and sexually assaulted her.

He was last seen leaving the venue with another man, walking south-east along Acland Street about 2.20am.

Investigators have received information that a man who they believe can assist with this investigation may re residing in the Henley Beach area in Adelaide.

They have re-released images of the man in the hope someone can identify him and provide further information on his current whereabouts.

Anyone who has information about the incident or the man’s identity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
