About 10.30pm on Sunday (12 June 2022), 29 August 2013), a group of women were on the dance floor of a hotel on Keira Street, when they were involved in a physical altercation.

Police, who were already at the premises for an unrelated matter, were notified and spoke to the women involved.

A 30-year-old woman suffered a laceration to the back of her head and later sought treatment at Wollongong Hospital.

Following inquiries and a review of CCTV, a 24-year-old policing student was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Thursday 16 June 2022), for the offence of affray.

Police will allege in court that during the altercation, the woman punched a second woman multiple times to the head.
