Port Road Adelaide clear after crash, SA

Police and emergency services are at the scene of a crash on Port Road, outside the Police Barracks, Adelaide, according to SA Police.

The multiple vehicle crash occurred just before 6.30am. The male passenger of a garbage truck had to be cut free from the vehicle, however, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A female driver also received minor injuries.

A vehicle also collided with the fence of the Police Barracks.

All city bound lanes are currently blocked. Traffic is being diverted via the Ice Arena to Sir James Congdon Drive. Traffic is already banked up back to the Entertainment Centre.

Police are working to clear the scene and have started organising tows. There are heavy vehicles involved and a fuel spillage, so it will take some time to clean up.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
