Crossway Preschool in Brighton will remain open in 2026.
Glen Education will manage the operations at Crossway Preschool next year. Council has agreed to transition the preschool service from Crossway Baptist Church to Brighton Recreational Centre from 2027.
At the November Council meeting, Council resolved to endorse the use of the occasional care room at Brighton Recreational Centre to operate as a single room kindergarten from 2027, on the basis that all compliance works are fully funded by the Department of Education at no cost to Council.
Bayside Mayor, Councillor Debbie Taylor-Haynes said, "We are delighted that Crossway Preschool service will continue to operate in Brighton in 2026 and beyond.
"This important decision guarantees ongoing access to quality early childhood education and care for Brighton's children and families."
