Prescription drugs seized, men charged, NSW

Two men have been charged after police seized ‘ice’, prescription drugs and knives at Merrylands on Sunday, NSW Police say.

Officers attached to Police Transport Command were patrolling a car park Merrylands Road at Merrylands about 9pm (16 April 2017), when they spoke with two men standing beside a car.

Police will allege that when the car was searched they found ‘ice’, oxycodone, fentanyl as well as other prescription medication, knives and other property.

A 37-year-old Merrylands man has been charged with six offences:

  • Supply prohibited drug
  • Possess prohibited drug (two counts)
  • Goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen
  • Custody of a knife in a public place
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail after appearing in Parramatta Bail Court yesterday (10 April 2017); he is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 20 April 2017.

A 49-year-old Merrylands man has been charged with two counts of possess a prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 5 May 2017.
