Prime mover, boat and motor scooter seized

Heavy Vehicle Unit Crime Investigation Unit detectives got more than they bargained for when an eagle eyed victim spotted his truck in Sunshine North yesterday, Victoria Police say.

Following the tip off HVU detectives made some enquiries before executing three warrants at different business premises in Sunshine North about 1pm.

The stolen Freightliner prime mover was found at a scrap metal yard after being traded for $2000 in what was believed at the time, to be a legitimate transaction.

At another factory in Sunshine North an allegedly stolen motor scooter, boat and trailer was also uncovered.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the factory in relation to the property seized and for and handling stolen goods.

The Sunshine man has been released at this stage pending further enquiries.

The prime mover, scooter and boat and trailer were seized and are pictured below.

Enquiries revealed the scooter was stolen from Southbank in the early hours of Monday morning and the boat and trailer, in which the VIN had been damaged to avoid identification, stolen from an address in North Melbourne in September last year.

The prime mover was stolen from Craigieburn in June 2017.
