Princess Park floodlighting begins

Greater Shepparton City Council recently began works on the installation of new floodlights at Princess Park Oval with works due be completed later this year.

Installation of the new flood lighting towers will cost $376,000 with contributions from Victorian State Government of $250,000 and the remaining contributed by Council. The works will include installation of four floodlight towers for the main oval, upgrade of the existing power supply, new main switchboard.

Last week the contractors installed four light towers, with upgrades to the main switchboard to still occur before all the lights become operational later this year. The positioning of the light towers is consistent with the recently endorsed Princess Park Master Plan.

Council is looking forward to the users of Princess Park being able to enjoy the upgrades to the oval once the current restrictions are lifted and the power connection is finalised.
