Probe Begins as Train Hits Trailer at Vineyard Crossing

Inquiries are underway after a train struck a trailer at a level crossing in Sydney's north-west this morning.

Emergency services were called to Level Crossing Road at Vineyard, south of Windsor, about 5am (Thursday 25 January 2024), and found a citybound passenger train had struck a trailer at low speed.

Officers from Riverstone Police Area Command and Police Transport Command have been told 50 passengers on the train at the time were not injured. The driver has been checked by NSW Ambulance paramedics as a precaution.

Inquiries are now underway into how the trailer came to be on the tracks.
