Project Unite on track to keep you safe

Project Unite is in full swing and building upon the safety and security plans already in place to ensure a safe and secure Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Officers from Queensland Police, Department of Transport and Man Roads, Translink and Queensland Rail are popping up at locations around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, particularly in transport hubs and public places, Queensland Police say.

Unite patrols are designed to detect deter and disrupt a range of criminal activity from minor offences to terrorism. Have you seen a deployment in your area? Look for the distinctive orange arm bands and come and say hello to one of our officers, who are happy to chat.

Remember as responsible community members we all have a role to play. We need you to be our eyes and ears and let us know if you see anything suspicious or have any concerns at all.

Even if you think it is probably nothing, the smallest piece of information can be valuable, if something doesn’t add up, speak up by calling the National Security Hotline on 1800 123 400.

Together we’ve got it covered.
