Calamvale general duties officers and Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged three people following a stolen car investigation.

Shortly after midnight on April 7, Calamvale police were doing proactive patrols when they identified an alleged stolen red Holden at a Compton Road service station at Karawatha.

Officers subsequently detained a 37-year-old Woodridge woman who was in the Holden, and soon after they arrested a 21-year-old man and 16-year-old male as they returned to the vehicle.

The trio are alleged to have been committing property and unlawful use of motor vehicle offences, with the red Holden having only been stolen hours earlier, from a Martens Street address at Mount Warren Park.

It will be further alleged the 21-year-old man made several attempts to provide a false identity to police.

Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigations Branch, Detective Acting Senior Sergeant, Justin Suffolk says front-line officers are committed to quickly identifying and apprehending offenders.

"Front-line officers in Brisbane's south are frequently getting their tyres out on the roads, to detect, disrupt and prevent offences to protect our community.

"This latest example showcases the great outcomes generated through our district's proactive patrols, with an alleged stolen vehicle being recovered within hours."

A 21-year-old Kingston man has been charged with two counts of contravene a requirement, and one count each of attempting to pervert justice, unlawful use of a motor vehicle (UUMV), enter premises and commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property (car keys), possessing utensils for use, and possessing a knife in public.

He is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court today, April 8.

The 37-year-old Woodridge woman was charged with one count each of UUMV, possessing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine) and possession of a pipe that had been used.

She is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on April 16.

The 16-year-old Mount Warren Park male was charged with one count each of UUMV, possessing a knife in public, possession of a pipe that had been used and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs (Fantasy GHB and methylamphetamine).

He is expected to appear before Beenleigh Childrens Court on April 14.
