Property crime offender arrested in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a 24 year old man in relation to several property crimes in Alice Springs.

It will be alleged the man was wanted in relation to the unlawful entry of six residential properties, the theft of a motor vehicle and escaping lawful custody during a seven month period from August 2019.

The man was located hiding in a house in a remote community south of Alice Springs, and arrested after a lengthy foot chase by members of the Regional Investigations Division, yesterday.

He was charged with:

1 x Escape lawful custody

6 x Unlawful entry - dwelling

6 x Damage to property

5 x Stealing

1 x Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The man will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court later today.
