Prospect House adds an exciting new chapter to historic Richmond

Will Hodgman,Premier & Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events

Tasmania has a vibrant reputation as a destination which offers premium experiences, world-class produce and an unrivalled natural environment.

Following a $5 million refurbishment, Prospect House, built in 1831, will offer luxury accommodation and an all-inclusive "paddock to plate" experience for visitors looking to explore our State beyond Hobart.

Owned by the Pooley family, Prospect House will also be home to Pooley Wines' cellar door where visitors can try and buy their multi-award winning, cool climate wines from the Coal River Valley.

Today's opening of Prospect House is yet another important reminder that despite the current bushfire situation, Tasmania is open for business.

For those here in Tasmania, and those looking to visit, the best thing you can do for our State at this time is to book a trip and come and visit this magnificent part of the world.
