  • Queensland tourism operators have biggest win at Australian Tourism Awards since 2022, with seven gold, two silver, and three bronze awards.
  • These awards mark another milestone in reversing a decade of decline in Queensland's visitor economy under Labor.
  • The Crisafulli Government's Destination 2045 strategy is securing Queensland as the tourism capital of the country after a decade of tourism under-investment from Labor.

The Crisafulli Government's investment in world-class visitor experiences - through Destination 2045 - is delivering big results, with the state's operators walking away with a standout 12 awards at Friday night's national tourism showcase.

From innovative tours to exceptional destinations, Queensland businesses lit up the event, proving once again why the Sunshine State is Australia's must-visit destination.

Hosted by the Australian Tourism Council, the Australian Tourism awards are the nation's premier tourism industry accolades, recognising the very best operators, attractions, experiences and destinations across Australia.

These national wins reinforce Queensland's position as the Home of the Holiday – a place where world-class experiences, operators and destinations set the benchmark for unforgettable travel.

The success aligns with the Crisafulli Government's long-term Destination 2045 vision, which delivers sustainable growth, exceptional visitor experiences and a thriving tourism economy for decades to come.

These awards prove the Crisafulli Government's progress in delivering a fresh start for Queensland's tourism industry which suffered a decade of decline under Labor, including a secret plan to gut tourism funding and deprive operators of support.

Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said the results cemented Queensland's reputation as the Home of the Holiday.

"A huge congratulations to all of our winners and nominees, your achievements showcase the very best of Queensland and made it a truly proud and successful night for our state," Minister Powell said.

"Queensland's outstanding performance shows the strength, creativity and resilience of our tourism operators who continue to deliver experiences that you can't find anywhere else.

"These results are proof that Queensland truly is the Home of the Holiday and operators aren't just lifting the bar, they're setting it."

Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) CEO Natassia Wheeler said the results highlighted the exceptional quality and resilience of Queensland's tourism industry.

"The Australian Tourism Awards are the pinnacle of recognition for our sector, and we congratulate every Queensland finalist and winner who represented our state so proudly on the national stage," Ms Wheeler said.

"Queensland continues to set the benchmark for tourism excellence in Australia and achieving seven national Gold awards once again demonstrate the strength, diversity and professionalism of our industry.

"These businesses represent the very best of what Queensland has to offer visitors - extraordinary experiences, genuine hospitality and a commitment to quality that positions our state as a leading destination both nationally and globally."
