Police assisting with the response to the bushfires at Sippy Downs have declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act, Queensland Police say.
The declaration was made at 5pm and with its boundaries encompassing:
Statesmans Road to Rally Drive and Windemere Way to Albany Street.
Some evacuations have occurred in the area.
Current road closures:
Statesmans Circuit
Explorer Road (both ends)
