PSPA Declaration, Labrador

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to an incident taking place in Labrador.

Around 4.30pm today (Tuesday December 6) police attended a Brown Street property in relation to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police began negotiations with a man, who is in the residence alone and is believed to be unarmed.

An emergency situation was declared just before 7.30pm, the area declared encompasses a small unit block on Brown Street with residents within the complex evacuated as a precaution.

Police will evacuate further nearby residents if necessary.

Motorists travelling in the area must stay out of the exclusion zone while emergency services respond.

Traffic diversions are in place. There is no further information available at this time.
