PSPA Emergency Declaration Declaration, Mitchelton

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) following a traffic crash in Mitchelton this afternoon, 23 October.

About 1.55pm, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Burwood Road and Osborne Road following reports a single tanker had struck a pole.

As result of the traffic crash, a large amount of diesel has spilled onto the road.

A PSPA was declared at 2.25pm, with the exclusion zone encompassing McConaghy Street, Northmore Street, Burwood Road and Osborne Road.

Member of the public are advised to avoid the area and residents within the exclusion zone are advised to stay indoors.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and expect delays.
