PSPA Emergency Declaration Declaration At Purga

Police have declared an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Purga this evening.

Police were called to an address on Ipswich Boonah Road around 4.35pm following reports of shots fired.

Initial information indicates no one has been injured.

A PSPA was subsequently declared around 5.45pm and has an exclusion zone has been established with boundaries encompassing Ipswich Boonah Road to the west, Hughes Rd to the north, Eastfield Court to the east and Carmichael Rd to the south.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
