PSPA Emergency Declaration Declared, Burleigh Heads

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to a building fire in Burleigh Heads this evening, 8 December.

Officers were called to around 5.50pm to reports of a fire at a business on West Burleigh Road.

An exclusion zone has been established while emergency services respond, encompassing Burleigh Street to the north across to West Burleigh Road to West Street, Taliban Street and across to Dunlin Drive up to Christine Avenue.

Residents are urged to avoid the area.
