PTC officers charge man with drug offences in Newcastle

Police have charged a man with drug offences after he was stopped in Broadmeadow, NSW Police say.

About 4pm today, police attached to Newcastle Police Transport Command patrolling Chatham Road, Broadmeadow, when they stopped a man riding a bicycle without a helmet.

A search of the man located a knife, drugs believed to be ‘ice’, and items including a passport, cash and debit cards, alleged to be unlawfully obtained.

The 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, custody of knife and deal with proceeds of crime.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 5 October 2017.
