Public Consultation completed for Draft Hilltops LEP

Hilltops Council

Hilltops Council is grateful for the level of interest shown in the Draft Hilltops LEP and mapping during public exhibition, which finished with the closure of the submission period on Monday 26 April.

More than 10,000 views were made to the Draft Hilltops LEP website during the 42 days of public exhibition, which commenced on 15 March 2021.

Hilltops Council chose to have a longer community consultation period than legally required, providing greater opportunity to discuss the plan with stakeholders and additional time to make submissions. This was considered to be necessary by Council as it was the first full review of land use zones across parts of Hilltops for more than a decade.

Hilltops Council staff will now commence reviewing the submissions received to inform a finalised Hilltops LEP for Council consideration. Council intends to have the revised document and supporting information ready for full Council consideration in July. This includes a report and recommendations on public submissions received over the public exhibition period.

In the meantime, further information on the progression of the Hilltops LEP and current planning and development controls can be found at www.hilltops.nsw.gov.au.
