Municipal toilets, jetties and pontoons will progressively reopen from May 13.
"This week we saw a gradual easing of restrictions from the Victorian Government," Warrnambool City Council Chief Executive Officer Peter Schneider said.
"This has meant that people can visit friends and family if they really need to.
"The easing of restrictions also means it is possible to exercise outdoors with up to 10 people provided you maintain at least 1.5m between you and other people.
"So while we can get out and about to some degree what has not changed is the need for us to observe social distancing laws.
"This will place limits on the number of people who can fish from jetties and it is important to respect the laws in order to stay safe and healthy.
"Please note that the Victorian Government has instructed that skate parks and playgrounds are to remain closed.
"This makes sense because these are facilities that would regularly attract larger groups of people and where it is difficult to comply with the social distancing requirements that remain in place."
Use of the following recreational facilities remains prohibited
- indoor physical recreation facilities, including gyms, yoga studios, wellness centres, barre and spin facilities and health studios
- indoor personal training facilities where personal training services are the predominant activity
- galleries and museums
- play centres
- publicly accessible playgrounds
- skate parks
- outdoor communal gym equipment.
