Public Works to scrutinise two Defence projects

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works will be holding hearings on Monday 30 July 2018 for two proposed Department of Defence projects.

Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Capability Facilities Project - $16.67 million

The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Capability Facilities Project proposes to provide new a refurbished facilities at a range of locations around Australia to undertake training in support of the recently acquired LAND 2110. LAND 2110 will deliver the Australian Defence Force individual and collective protection from chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.

Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Phase 6 Facilities Project - $50.7 million

The JORN Phase 6 Facilities Project, part of a broader project to upgrade Australia’s radar surveillance capability, proposes to deliver facilities at six locations to address obsolescence and supportability issue with the existing radar surveillance infrastructure and associated accommodation facilities.
