Pug owner of "Egg" charged for false report of armed robbery, NSW

Police have charged a man after he allegedly made a false report of an armed robbery in Sydney Olympic Park, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm (9 February 2017), officers from Flemington Local Area Command were called to the corner of Australia Avenue and Parkview Drive after receiving reports of a robbery.

Police were told that three unknown men armed with knives approached a 29-year-old man walking his dog along Australia Avenue.

The unknown men demanded the man’s wallet and backpack, also taking the man’s 14-week-old dog, named "Egg", described as a smaller breed black ‘Pug’.

About 7.15pm (Tuesday 21 February 2017, a 29-year-old man attended Auburn Police Station and spoke to police.

Following investigations, officers from Flemington Local Area Command issued the man a future court attendance notice for false representation resulting in police investigation.

He will appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 6 April, 2017.

The whereabouts of "Egg", the dog is unknown.

Anyone with information of the dog’s whereabouts is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
