Police attempted to stop the vehicle and when it did not stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a fence on the Great Western Highway, near Lockyer Street, Bowenfels.
One of the occupants of the car was trapped inside the vehicle for some time.
The two occupants – both teenage boys aged 13 – were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being transported to Westmead Hospital in stable conditions.
A critical incident team from Central West Police District will lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation will be reviewed by the Professional Standards Command and oversighted by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC).
