Pursuit, two arrested, NSW

Two men have been arrested following a police pursuit in Coffs Harbour earlier today, NSW Police say.

Just before 9am today, officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command approached two men in a black Toyota Lexus on Kiddel Place, Coffs Harbour, after they recognised one of the men was allegedly wanted on two outstanding warrants.

The driver did not stop when directed and police initiated a pursuit.

The vehicle was then involved in a minor collision with another car.

Police will allege, during the pursuit, a firearm, was thrown from the vehicle; this has been recovered by police.

At the intersection of Arthur Street and Richmond Drive, the vehicle and a police vehicle collided.

The vehicle then drove into a public reserve and hit a second police vehicle.

Police will allege drugs, suspected of being methamphetamine, were thrown from the vehicle; these have been recovered by police.

The driver, a 36-year-old man, and the passenger, a 33-year-old man, were removed from the vehicle and arrested.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located further drugs, suspected of being methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, and cannabis; these have been seized by police.

The men were taken Coffs Harbour Police Station where they are assisting police with inquiries.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
