The Sydney Business Chamber says today's announcement that Pyrmont will get a Metro station completing the Metro West rail link to Parramatta, guarantees a huge future for the Pyrmont Peninsula, unlocking this exciting western gateway to Sydney's CBD as a jobs, tourism and entertainment hub.
"A Metro station at Pyrmont was always key to the future development of Pyrmont and its revitalisation as a thriving new precinct that will drive employment and the city's economy, never more critical as we emerge from Covid," said Katherine O'Regan, Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber.
"Today's announcement by Planning Minister Rob Stokes is estimated to unlock $1 billion in investment in the precinct, including a much-needed new six-star hotel that will bring a major boost to the hard-hit hospitality, accommodation and tourism sectors in Sydney."
